Places you should visit while visiting Irving, TX
There is so much to see in Irving; TX just like at any other town in the United States. While it is true that the most famous attractions and locations that are worth to see are located in an area surrounding Irving, that does not mean that you should not visit them. Most of those attractions are just minutes of driving from Irving so there is no excuse why you should not visit them. A.W. Perry Homestead Museum
This museum is located at 1509 North Perry Road in Carrollton, TX. If you like history, then this is the right place for you. At A.W. Perry Homestead Museum you will experience and learn about how was it like to live in North Texas at the beginning of the 20th century. A.W. Perry and his wife Sarah were part of Peters Colony that came to Carrollton around 1845 from another Carrollton in Illinois. They settled on 640 acres of land and built their house on this farm. At the turn of the century their son Dewitt destroyed the house to use the lumber for a new one. That house is today known as A.W. Perry Homestead Museum. Foundation blocks of the original Perry house can still be found today behind the museum.
This skatepark is located at 1002 Lonestar Parkway in Grand Prairie, TX. If you like extreme sports and adrenaline or if your spirit is adventurous then this is the place for you. There are few different courses in Alliance Skatepark such as beginner’s course, advanced outdoor course, and advanced/intermediate covered course. Choose one depending on your skill or you can just sit down, relax and watch people perform tricks on skateboards, bikes, and inline skates. Park also features a skate shop where you can buy clothes, stickers, skateboards, shoes, and accessories.
American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum
This museum is located at 4601 Hwy 360 at FAA Road in Fort Worth, TX. If you like planes and history, then you should visit this museum. American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum is one of the few museums in the world which are dedicated to displaying commercial aircraft. If you decide on spending your afternoon at this museum, you won’t be disappointed since this is an experience for all your senses.
