Your Keller roofing company
Keller is located in North Tarrant County in the western part of the Eastern Cross Timbers. A group of families has settled in the area near the Big Bear Creek around 1845. They traveled from Missouri. In 1850, Mount Gilead Baptist Church was established, but it was burned down an almost decade later during an Indian raid. It was the only schoolhouse in that area f the county until 1910. Because of the proximity of two big springs located half a mile north from church, the are often referred to as ”Double Spring”. In the 1870s, that area had several stores, cotton gin, blacksmith shop and a grist mill. In 1896, John C. Keller established the site that was used as a railroad depot and an artesan well was dug up in Keller. Today, more than 200, 000 gallons of fresh water is produced by ”Samantha Springs”. In 1881 the Texas and Pacific Railway that connected Texarkana and Fort Worth was completed. Numerous villages were established along the railway and Keller as it is today was one of them. That same year, H.W. Black, a druggist from Tarrant County established a town site called Athol which was located abut 14 miles northeast of Fort Worth. Others followed and Athol was soon populated with arriving settlers. In 1882, the town name was changed from Athol to Keller, honoring a railroad foreman John C. Keller. Keller is still growing today. The fact that there were only 4, 500 residents in 1980 compared to 44, 000 residents today is the best testament to that statement. Keller is a city that wants to grow. Because of that, the city has recently constructed new municipal service center, new town hall, and an award-winning aquatic and recreation center called The Keller Pointe. Also, a city has expanded and renovated police building which contains Regional Animal Adoption Center, Regional Jail, and regional 911 dispatch center, constructed a new fire station for the south part of the city and expanded the Keller Public Library.
